AHMEDABAD: In a shocking incident, a bike seized in May 2019 was found stolen from Odhav police station compound. The bike belongs to Mohammed Juned Kazi of Balasinor in Mahisagar. A complaint of theft has been registered at Odhav police station on Saturday.
According to police sources, on May 15, 2019 the bike was seized by PSI SJ Chauhan from Odhav Ring Road Circle as it had no registration number plate on it and the rider of the bike had now worn a helmet also. The bike was kept in the compound of Odhav police station.
Police sources said after that Kazi had gone to Doha-Katar for some work and hence could not come to claim his bike back.
"After coming back from Doha-Katar, Kazi paid the fine of Rs 6,300 at RTO in Lunawada on June 6, 2020 and on the next day came to claim his bike at Odhav police station with the receipt of fine he had paid. However, the bike was not found in the compound of the police station. After that Kazi was told that he will be informed when the bike will be found. No documents regarding giving back the bike to Kazi were found", added a police official.
Senior police officials said that hence they have now registered an FIR that, from May 2019 to November 7, 2020 someone stole the bike from the compound of the police by breaking the lock of the bike or opening it with a duplicate key. "We are still hunting for the bike" said a senior police official of Odhav police station.
